I met this woman on the streets of Dharamsala, India as she was collecting money for Tibetan refugees. Dharamsala is where many Tibetans escaped to after the Chinese invaded their country and began the assimilation of the locals over fifty years ago.

These children followed our team around the village of Bhorle in Nepal. They were fascinated by our cameras and struck poses for us in between interviews with locals affected by the earthquake. Many people in this village lost their homes and were reconstructing temporary homes out of tin.

Weeks after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal in 2015, many people in the Bhorle region of Nepal were still waiting for basic sheltering needs. Tin had arrived to temporarily replace many of the homes that were destroyed, and now this woman waits to receive a mosquito net from SEEDS Nepal, a local NGO.

To my surprise, she looked up at me and said she was lucky enough to speak a language similar to the new arrivals, and told me she was from Iran. She was overcome with emotion, and told me, "Muslims are not terrorists."
