Hi! I'm Tasia (pronounced like 'Asia' with a 'T').
I am a multimedia reporter based in New York City, and a graduate student at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism specializing in international reporting. I began my career as a photographer in Utah in 2010. I shot everything from portraits, to fashion, to weddings to protests. I traveled to places like Kenya, Peru and India. After some time, I found I was most drawn to documentary work. I received a B.A. in film and media arts from the University of Utah in 2015, where I produced a short documentary about women's education in Nepal. I returned to Nepal just weeks after the region was hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake as a photographer/ videographer for Reel Advocacy. I continued photo work for Alex and Ani in Ethiopia, alongside Plan International. Most recently, I wrapped up a solo trip across Europe and I'm currently producing stories from New York City in a variety of mediums.
